Program Overview

The Technology Transfer (T2) Center was established at the University of Connecticut School of Engineering's Transportation Institute in 1983, to provide training and technical assistance to Connecticut's local governments in the areas of roads, bridges and public transportation.

The T2 Center publishes a quarterly newsletter that provides local officials with information on the latest techniques and practices being used throughout the United States for the management, construction and maintenance of local roads, and the management and operation of local and public transit systems.

The center presents workshops, training sessions, and special events for Connecticut's local government personnel and the private sector on a wide variety of topics related to planning, design, maintenance and operation of the local transportation system.

The center also provides technical advice on problems relating to road and bridge design, construction, maintenance, traffic safety and operation of public transit systems.
